Former Prime Minister Helen Clark
Did U Know?
In New Zealand, it is estimated that 1 in 4 females and 1 in 8 males are likely to experience Sexual Violence or Abuse in their lifetimes, many before the age of 16.
However, there is good news...
We believe through community education, sexual violence and abuse can be prevented. Education can also give young people the courage they need to reach out to someone who can help. Since 2003, Rape Prevention Education has educated more than 15,000 students in Auckland about personal safety through our BodySafe programme and we need your help to continue our work. Please take a moment to make a donation - of any amount. Click here.
By supporting our work, you CAN do something POSITIVE about Sexual Violence and Abuse.

Rape Prevention Education
Rape Prevention Education (RPE) (formerly Rape Crisis Auckland, a non-profit organization established in 1975) works towards the prevention of sexual violence and abuse through delivering specialist sexual violence and abuse prevention education and training programs to youth, professionals and communities.
RPE also supports survivors of sexual violence and abuse and their whanau/friends though a telephone crisis information and referral line and informative website. RPE also advocates for policy and legislative improvements for survivors of sexual violence. To learn more about RPE programmes click here.
RPE maintains a comprehensive research database on best practice in the prevention of sexual violence and abuse, and our researcher, Veronica Marwitz was last year’s recipient of Vodafone Foundation NZ World of Difference Award.
In this regard, you will find a wealth of information on our website, ranging from our popular prevention program for youth called BodySafe to information specifically tailored to assist survivors of rape and sexual abuse, their loved ones and professionals who work with survivors.
RPE’s telephone crisis information and referral line is also an excellent resource for survivors and/or loved ones, health professionals and community workers who may wish to access information on behalf clients, family or friends. Please click here for the telephone crisis information and referral phone number and hours of operation.
RPE acknowledges the generous assistance of individual donors, MarketStorm, One-Click, Vodafone New Zealand Foundation, Elizabeth Arden and the ASB Charitable Trust. Your financial support helps us in the fight against rape and sexual violence and abuse.
Rape Prevention Education is registered as Rape Crisis Auckland Incorporated.
